BIRDS OF A FEATHER From Doylestown: From New Hope: Cost: $97.00 due at time of reservation Reservation deadline is October 22, 2010 Pay homage to autumn’s migration of our feathered friends in America’s premier wildlife art festival. Located in historic Easton on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, the annual event features paintings, carvings, sculpture, photography, crafts, mouth-watering local cuisine, and live music throughout the town’s meandering colonial streets, beautiful gardens, and surrounding ponds. Now in its 39th year, the celebration, dedicated to waterfowl and wildlife conservation, attracts nearly 20,000 visitors and almost 300 of the world’s finest wildlife artists, craftsmen, and vendors. You will visit galleries, shops, and wildlife displays located in some of Easton’s most historic buildings. You will have the opportunity to meet and talk with the exhibitors about their work, interact with collectors of antique and contemporary decoys and sporting memorabilia, enjoy retriever demonstrations, and purchase an endless array of items in all price ranges. Settled in the late seventeenth-century, Easton is celebrating its tricentennial this year, and was at one time the economic, political, and cultural hub for the Eastern Shore. Recently named the 8th Best Small Town in America, the village maintains its heritage by truly welcoming festival visitors with its variety of quaint shops, fine restaurants, and charming tree-lined streets of colonial, federal, and Victorian architecture. The tour includes deluxe motorcoach transportation and admission to the festival. |
